This retreat is to reintensify the community life in a Catholic parish. Methods of study included: 1) Research on the theological understanding of community life in the parish and on the essence and goals of the Cursillo Movement; and 2) Implementation and evaluation of the retreat model designed on the basis of the research. The textbook was designed to serve two functions: 1) to convey information from the Jewish traditional literature on Tzedaka, and 2) to modify student behaviors from non-Tzedaka-prone to Tzedaka-prone. It examines: 1) how a pastor views the counselee(s); 2) the difference between pastoral care, pastoral counseling and non-Christian therapy; and 3) what is distinctively 'pastoral' about pastoral counseling in the parish and elsewhere.  Part 2 of the paper deals with four actual counseling cases.  In each case the unique theoretical aspects of pastoral counseling are applied practically. These cases deal with: 1) depression, 2) family systems, 3) exhibitionism, 4) schizoid personality and family systems.
