The instrument used in this research was the Family Environment Scale (FES) which measures family environment in three major dimensions: Relationship, Personal Growth, and System Maintenance. Dimensions are divided into the following ten subscales: Cohesion; Expressiveness; Conflict; Independence; Achievement Orientation; Intellectual-Cultural Orientation; Active Recreational Orientation; Moral-Religious Emphasis; Organization; and Control. Through analysis of variance, it was determined that there were significant differences between officer and enlisted families in two areas, which were Intellectual-Cultural Orientation and Control, and that there were differences approaching statistical significance in the areas of Conflict and Active Recreational Orientation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125908342439936,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:19:36.236Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:15:24Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:36:38Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7db1b384-e8d5-45c9-b9fd-76b1cfced3c7","accessControl_ssim":["da00bba4-4bc3-4b13-a2ab-f4f2f27029d6"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Deciding for responsible behavior: a curriculum designed for teaching moral education at the United States Recruit Training Command"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:15:23Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:50:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1a80c61a-afb5-4437-b32d-03be6a73f65e"],"hasLease_ssim":["022cc491-4579-4f9e-9426-9a67cde010e5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["L Howard Grimes"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William L Patrick"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Values","Human behavior","Rest, James R","Military chaplains","Moral education","Decision making--Moral and ethical aspects","Kohlberg, Lawrence, 1927-1987"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to design a curriculum for teaching moral education in the United States Recruit Training Command. The development consisted first in researching existing programs of clergy evaluation in the United States both Roman Catholic and Protestant. Secondly, the project involved psychological preparation of priests for the possibility of ministerial performance evaluation. Priests were personally interviewed in a stratified, random sampling. They also did a time-study or functions survey as to how they spend their time in ministry. Three kinds of instruments for evaluation were designed: self evaluation, peer evaluation, and lay evaluation. The process for evaluation includes the assistance of a third party, priest confidant who gathers and interprets all of the responses. The program was adopted by the Diocese of Cleveland. Other dioceses and denominations might also benefit from it."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128321310851072,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:57:57.422Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:14:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:32:09Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"29da3f83-9b16-4cc7-ba2f-366572a723ae","accessControl_ssim":["b044fd51-b4e0-4e14-97d8-5949eefc5fee"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Marriage enrichment: a comprehensive model in a Christian context"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:14:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:21:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["cb11dbff-5857-4931-9753-3c236925644d"],"hasLease_ssim":["95ddad44-2533-4299-ad2a-4d899dffb7b9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Leroy T Howe"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jerry D Overton"],"publisher_tesim":["Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University"],"subject_tesim":["Sex--Religious aspects--Christianity","Spiritual retreats","Intimacy (Psychology)","Marriage counseling","Divorce"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["the study attempted the development of a model for marriage enrichment in a Christian context and through the utilization of the model to determine if it could be an effective means of enriching marriages by seeking to enable a Christian vision of marriage to become reality in the lives of those who chose it. The conclusion reached in the study is that this approach to conflict management in the congregational setting is viable and successful."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["United Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["f0f9c284-37b6-440c-96ab-39e6509e82ee"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127955817103360,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:52:08.860Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:14:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:38:34Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"14983e9e-496b-4225-ac80-5c16ca91303d","accessControl_ssim":["5a17acc5-2194-45c6-8eb8-e23f3f5a7c5a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A critical analysis of the church's ministry to urban squatters in the Mathare Valley and a proposed model for future ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:14:55Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:43:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1c8e657f-2599-4125-b72a-f831e0e4f327"],"hasLease_ssim":["be8a1782-f869-4304-a70b-7780d1f89126"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Interdenominational Theological Center"],"advisor_tesim":["George Thomas"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"location_tesim":["Kenya--Nairobi"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Julius M Nkonge"],"keyword_tesim":["Church and community"],"publisher_tesim":["Interdenominational Theological Center"],"subject_tesim":["City missions"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project consists of an analysis of the church's ministry to the urban squatter population of the Mathare Valley in Nairobi, Kenya, and it proposes a model for future ministry. It proposed to examine how men and women within a congregation perceived women's role in an effort to identify, clarify, and change attitudes for mutual ministry. The vehicle for this research used a dialectical methodology of combined biblical studies and social science methods. The expectation of the hypothesis was that significant changes in attitudes would take place.
