The purpose of the practicum was to provide a setting in which counseling skills would be improved and in which awareness of women's experiences would be increased. The project provided an opportunity for reporting the practicum findings and incorporating this information into theological reflection. The student achieved these purposes through weekly supervision of tape recordings of counseling sessions, presentation and review of case conference materials with the practicum supervisor and a Richland College psychologist, and reading books and materials related to the area of concern."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126604715393024,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:30:40.349Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:13:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:50:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"93a18292-57d5-494a-bf4a-af8c369d6ffa","accessControl_ssim":["87f12c5e-09c2-49a2-8636-dc4853ab802b"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The evaluation of the pastoral leader in the context of the congregation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:13:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:27:14Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3badf9c6-9541-4dd2-abe7-aaa1a1c9ac0d"],"hasLease_ssim":["01999d4a-f7ab-437d-affd-2d2308453d6d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["University of St Michael's College"],"advisor_tesim":["Delton J Glebe"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ralph A Lebold"],"publisher_tesim":["University of St. Michael's College Faculty of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Clergy","Laity","Leadership--Religious aspects","Mennonites--Clergy","Job evaluation"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The evaluation of leaders occurs whether it is called for or not. Leadership is judged, consciously or unconsciously, by the persons who experience it. It is the view of the writer that evaluations ought to be planned to maximize learning and growth. The process of disciplined reflection is rooted in church history and is modelled in the biblical story. Such a process can be a creative avenue for growth and change. These experiences need not be feared nor do they need to be destructive. It is possible to teach groups and individuals how to evaluate people and programs constructively. The action research project attempts to illustrate, through the avenue of ministry, a process for evaluating pastoral leaders in the context of the congregation. Fifteen Mennonite pastors volunteered to participate in an evaluation with their congregations. Four types of evaluations were designed and tested. The results are described and evaluated. The text included a statement outlining the conceptual basis for evaluation. Results reinforce the thesis that evaluations can have a positive effect for the pastor and the congregation. Limitations and potential dangers are also noted."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127850047242240,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:50:27.990Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:13:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:27:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"da754084-ea2d-4653-8363-e829631fa430","accessControl_ssim":["c27cf12d-87f8-486c-9417-54531323252a"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Administration as charism: a comparison of I Corinthians and canon law"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:13:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:22:42Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c1ee3c66-f8ed-464d-8bd0-f40c1790252e"],"hasLease_ssim":["d2ab513c-e57d-4366-84ad-c4c1a18f7d93"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["University of Chicago"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Glen Adrian Lewandowski"],"keyword_tesim":["Codex Juris Canonici (1917)"],"publisher_tesim":["University of Chicago Divinity School"],"subject_tesim":["Bible. The time orientation of the twelve shifted systematically from past to future perspective with increased time in the group."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714891858182144,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:37:49.218Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:13:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:46:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"19de3dcc-e65d-41b0-bea7-2b231576c778","accessControl_ssim":["4940ecf2-dcc0-41eb-abaf-938e371eceb9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A theology of vulnerability"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:12:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:53:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["03f78b90-5da5-49a2-9fbf-4021fb865bbb"],"hasLease_ssim":["ecc8b18f-f582-4182-b0f1-0345003440be"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["W Kenneth Cauthen"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Robert William Lamson"],"publisher_tesim":["Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School"],"subject_tesim":["God--Fatherhood","Grace (Theology)","Faith","Jesus Christ","God--Love","Heart--Religious aspects","Androgyny"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis is to show that the symbol of heart (leb) in the Old Testament, reaches its fruition in Jesus the Christ; that is, Jesus standing in a congruent historical relationship with the covenant community of Israel epitomizes the vulnerable heart. Furthermore, Jesus, as epitomizing this symbol, demonstrates that the most significant characteristic of the heart is its vulnerableness to the love of God. Therefore, a secondary premise of this thesis is that human vulnerability, as a posture of faith, is essential to human self-fulfillment. Being penetrated is not necessarily a contradiction to be avoided but can lead to opportunities for human growth and entrance intod the Kingdom of God. In line with this premise, Jesus has been interpreted (functionally) as the Mediator who reveals the Fatherhood of God as grace and compassion on the one hand and, on the other, that the true posture of faith is seen as a vulnerable heart. The last chapter argues that the Fatherhood of God, revealed in Jesus as compassion and grace, contains feminine characteristics which posit genuine vulnerabiity of God's nature which can be held together in an androgynous model."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715430997164032,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:46:23.381Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:13:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:57:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8ace75ac-3b3b-4405-b12f-4654e12eaeb7","accessControl_ssim":["9e368084-7514-4bf8-848d-403e28630dc5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Biblical perspectives on world hunger"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:12:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:12:15Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["50667772-1860-4380-a562-291a873fd306"],"hasLease_ssim":["bc109cbc-71e0-47dd-b532-d2b424d0d69a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["Harrell F Beck"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Darrell Kent Huddleston"],"keyword_tesim":["Prophets in the Old Testament"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Sabbatical year (Judaism)","Covenants--Biblical teaching","Hunger","Kingdom of God","Poor--Biblical teaching","Developing countries","Christian stewardship","Imperialism"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The proposed topic of this study is that the biblical material has as one of its pervading themes God's special concern for the poor and hungry. Methodology involved research in family therapy and chemical dependency, and implementation of aftercare sessions developed for recovering families.
