The project helped traumatized veterans who experienced posttraumatic stress disorder and moral injury for whom other forms of therapy had not worked. Methods used were cognitive behavioral therapy and prolonged exposure therapy, in the context of a 12-week couples therapy group. Results were resolution of traumatization and forgiveness. The purpose of the project was to change attitudes, so church members would willingly include more people in the future. Two sermon series (self-differentiation; sacrificial inclusion) were preached over 12 weeks, with pretests and posttests measuring participants' attitudes toward this change. Responses to both were positive. It explores this challenge through the biblical stories of Joseph in Nebuchadnezzar's Court, Daniel in Pharaoh's Court, Esther in the court of Xeroxes, and through the teachings of Jesus. The writings of Luther, Calvin, Packer, Newbigin, and Kirkwood were researched for their theological implications for ministry in church and state. Christian chaplains and supervisors were interviewed to describe their ministries. We are living in unprecedented times as the numbers of the unchurched and de-churched continue to grow rapidly. Both ethnic and cultural diversity have also changed the very face of our nation. Only through strategic church planting of mission-driven churches can this tide be turned. The writer of this project planted one such church, implementing four key core principles that were previously used to plant an urban church to a new suburban church plant. These moments we might call altar moments. During the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries these moments were put into a strategy of evangelism. Revivalists and crusade evangelists, during this period, used the invitation to an altar of prayer as a way to solidify new found faith. During the Twenty-first Century, the altar call has fallen into disuse. Twenty-one students of a Christian university completed a survey and interview, and then attended fossil-hunting field trips with a Christian paleontologist. On the trips, the students engaged in scientific fieldwork, scientific discussion, and faith discussion. Other activities included a lecture on paleontology at the university and classroom discussions of experiences. Students journaled after each activity. After all activities, exit surveys and interviews were conducted. The project director assimilated a strategy team of Johnson Ferry Baptist ministers and staff members, and led this group through the development of the proposed outreach strategy. The strategy team met once a week for six weeks to develop the strategy for the church. The project director, based on completed research, instructed the strategy team on the findings of millennial research, outreach practices, and strategy planning essentials. The project director then led the team to develop the multifaceted strategy.
