The goals of the study were twofold: (1) assist in the design and implementation of a prototype hybrid preaching course; and (2) conduct the study to determine students' reactions to the design and implementation of the course. Two questions framed the study to ascertain students' feelings regarding how the course was designed to deliver content: (1) How would students react to a prototype hybrid course in preaching? (2) What recommendations would students offer to enhance learning and improve future hybrid course development? Data was collected by electronic survey, focus groups and individual interviews. The data confirms that course design (1) is essential to ensure optimal learning for students, (2) is essential for students to perform well in a hybrid course, (3) is directly correlated to students' attitudes and perceptions of the course and overall satisfaction with the course."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129780855242752,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:21:09.352Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:20:01Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:26:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1e0beec6-a28d-4884-a185-c6b1c540fc44","accessControl_ssim":["8b3b74dc-6d92-43d7-9b24-93ade85002cb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Leadership training and development for cross-cultural engagements in the Bible translation task: a narrative strategy"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:20:01Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:01:14Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["94bc5689-6838-46e4-9582-a8363127bdb1"],"hasLease_ssim":["291a264e-93e3-4bc0-b6ac-6807a67c5045"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Karen Mason"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Margaret B Doll"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Intercultural communication","Translating and interpreting","Narrative inquiry (Research method)","Bible"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this study was to develop the use of a narrative-based training strategy for oral and literate partners involved cross-culturally in Bible translation. With this need in mind the Nine Practices of The Proactive Parent was developed to address the moral vacuum cause by the lack of a comprehensive character-driven approach to parenting. This writers observations were gleaned from personal experience, interaction with parents through counseling, teaching opportunities, and in-depth study of well-known parenting experts. As a result, The Nine Practices of The Proactive Parent was developed and implemented with positive results. These results were gathered and calculated through post-course critiques and follow-on counseling. The results have been of consistent high quality. As parents developed a higher level of character-health in their own lives, the resulting impact was more recognizable character-health in their children. As groups of parents implemented the principles together, the resulting outcome was character-healthy families, churches, and developing communities."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131826285182976,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:53:40.026Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:19:29Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:04:25Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d032178f-3847-4e95-992d-3b7a3efa7ec9","accessControl_ssim":["27987164-933c-47f2-b2b0-c21deb77ecb7"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching first person narrative sermons to unchurched or marginalized females"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T16:19:28Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:05:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["5dc946b3-4a2d-4e65-a4fe-b0134fea5ba7"],"hasLease_ssim":["ac703fa8-eb4d-42f9-ab0f-b2f16011d5e2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David A Currie"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Denise Ann Myers"],"keyword_tesim":["Jesus Christ--Attitude towards women"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with women","Women in the Bible","Jesus Christ","Preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Preaching first person narrative sermons to unchurched or marginalized females is a set of sermons that highlight biblical females' stories. This is God's living system. The biblical account of God's creation and new creation form the basis for understanding living system theology. The 'Expanded Jeremiah Model' (Jeremiah 29:7) provides for the church a dynamic and interactive paradigm for discovering and participating with God's living system. Repentance is necessary to be prepared to address the possibility of counterproductivity in a fallen world. A group learning exercise called 'hexagoning' is utilized as a discernment tool for Central Assembly of god Church, Boston, which allows the congregation to understand God's gracious work in the church and in the city. This enabled Central Assembly of God Church to develop a ministry to Kenyan orphans, provide training for immigrant pastors, launch an urban mission, and initiate conversation among Assemblies of God missionaries about the city as a resource."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130372134666240,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:30:33.240Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13083,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":46,"label":"Dissertation"},{"value":"Thesis","hits":9,"label":"Thesis"},{"value":"D.Min.
