Modifying Neil Cole's model, this six month project sought to develop spiritual leaders who moved beyond attractional methodology to a missional approach. Transformational discipleship, organic church life, decentralized leadership and missional movement were utilized to achieve a healthy and reproducing ministry. The overall design of the project was to create a climate and ecology that would be conductive for spiritual growth and whole person transformation into Christlikeness. The design included a qualitative approach, incorporating three macro environments: a sermon series on Christlikeness; an interactive guide; and small group gatherings. To capture the lived experience, in-depth phenomenological interviews were used. Informants included two local pastors of African origin and selected members of their churches. The author of this project studied these challenges in order to develop a strategic plan for transitioning Time of Grace Ministry beyond the tenure of Pastor mark Jeske. The research design utilized data gathering from selected national Christian media. This project identified ten strategic insights that address both ministry transition and leadership succession. District and church missions mobilizers were surveyed as to the motivations, methods, and obstacles for mobilizing people to the mission field. The participants were also surveyed as to their perspectives on the future of missions in The Alliance. It was clear from the data that missions mobilization within The Alliance is a joint effort between churches, districts, and International Ministries of the C\u0026MA. In the Biblical Theology chapter, I analyze six key biblical texts (Gen 1:26-27; Exod 20:4; Isa 40:18; Psa 115:3-4; Heb 1:3; Col 1:15) that deal with the concept of 'image.' I then relate them to my understanding of the imago Dei and its relationship to the disciplines of Christian Spiritual Formation, especially as a means of outlining the Creation, Fall, Reconciliation and Restoration of Humankind through Christ. The Systematic Theology chapter highlights the Substantialist or Ontological interpretation of the imago Dei and argues the importance of how 'right being' precedes 'right doing.' The Field Research chapter explores two 'right doing' motifs often found in youth ministry: 1. 'Saved from Hell' versus 'Saved to Christ,' and 2. Qualitative focus group interviews were used with leaders from four engaged neighboring OPC and PCA churches and with leaders of two non-engaged churches. Five factors were identified as encouraging or discouraging local ICR. How congregations do or do not engage reflects what leaders believe about the nature and unity of the church. Chapter 1 gives an introduction with the thesis, methodology, criteria for passage selection, deliminations, obstacles, goal, application to ministry, and theological considerations. Chapter 2 demonstrates and defends the thesis through a biblical critical analysis and theological study demonstrating the spiritual disciplines proposed and states a conclusion. Chapter 3 presents future plans of how these spiritual disciplines can be adapted for specific continued ministry.
