College students are some of the most mold-able and send-able people and, for this reason, I will focus this thesis on them. My argument will be to identify the student volunteer movement's methodology and compare it with today's mobilization methodology. I will then compare the theological paradigms of today to those of the student volunteer movement's era. Using the historical methodology approach, I will compile these findings in an effort to research thoroughly the problem of How to Mobilize Christian Students to be Global Christians. I will conclude the thesis by applying seven common principles from the student volunteer movement so that today's mobilization of Christian students to be global Christians can be maximized."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129976436686848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:24:15.873Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:06:03Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:05:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d71db4da-781f-4f2e-976c-ff71660b4071","accessControl_ssim":["d83b6f1c-3f39-4fe4-a03d-add22c5f1d48"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The value of life story in the spiritual formation program at Dallas Theological Seminary"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:06:02Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:16:58Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2c64a021-de5d-4bc2-880a-3bf2503553db"],"hasLease_ssim":["034676c8-e7ff-44a4-9918-7690187e287e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David A Currie","Stephen A Macchia"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gail H Seidel"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["First person narrative","Spiritual formation","Dallas Theological Seminary","Christian biography","Christian life"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The research project's purpose was to validate that reflecting on, writing and telling one's life story contributes to individual spiritual formation and corporate spiritual formation in order to confirm the values held by the Department of Spiritual Formation and Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary. This thesis will introduce a new paradigm for understanding the issue by incorporating the dimensions of demographics and church organizational development. There appears to be a catalytic relationship between spiritual conversations and the spiritual health of church leaders. Church leaders find a safe place for discerning God's healing initiative through spiritual direction. To ascertain the impact of spiritual direction upon the church leader's spiritual formation, sixteen pastors and program staff received monthly spiritual direction for twelve months. Ninety-four percent reported aspects of spiritual growth. The effect of spiritual direction catalyzed not only the leaders' spiritual growth, but impacted consequent changes in the relational dynamics of the broader staff and church session, with a renewal of the wider church and its ministry."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132241897717760,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:00:16.385Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:05:04Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:53:24Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9bb706d7-0366-4b65-9864-41ab4e7fb85d","accessControl_ssim":["61b8780d-25ae-4def-b199-ba004bfbe832"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Rediscovering modesty in an immodest world"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:05:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:41:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c66133c5-65e7-4aef-989d-0924f542cdae"],"hasLease_ssim":["070567ec-a78a-4bdb-9ad4-279f133dd01b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Alice P Mathews"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Letra M Smith"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Religion","Sexual ethics","Secularization","Modesty--Religious aspects--Christianity","Women in Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Women and girls in the twenty-first century find themselves living in a sexualized culture that celebrates indiscretion and immodesty. Today, women and girls (Christians included) are encouraged to flaunt their bodies and show as much flesh as possible. The once widely held virtue of modesty, which was introduced by God as a means of protection from indecency has become almost entirely unknown in the last fifty years. This study will address the challenges women and girls face living in a sexualized society and explore the sociological and cultural context within which women and girls are sexualized. Are women exercising freedom to dress as they please or are they simply buying into their own objectification? The effect of constant bombardment of sexualized images in mass media on women and girls is also explored. Does modesty matter in a culture where skin-is-in?"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131812670472192,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:53:27.042Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13083,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"Dissertation","hits":46,"label":"Dissertation"},{"value":"Thesis","hits":9,"label":"Thesis"},{"value":"D.Min.
