As the result of this research, on adult study course on prayer for Korean American church lay people is design, implemented and evaluated. The D/P is arranged in three Parts. In part one, Wesley's historical and theological background together with his spirituality was dealt with his practice of prayer and finally his activities in the U.S.A. In part two, I examined Korean spirituality which was influenced very much by Shamanism and Mysticism. I illustrated two pastors' stories which impressed me very much. In part three, a questionnaire was designed to know what the Korean scholars and pastors thought about Wesleyan prayer and their prayer practice. When Protestant missionaries brought Christianity to Korea, they forced Korean Christians to throw away all the ways of Korean shamanism, but shamanistic tradition is variously found in the spirituality and daily life of Korean Christians. Northern Thai Christians provide insight into traditional and biblical phii and the  project assesses the influence of traditional spirit concepts on biblical understanding.  According to Thai Christian understanding, traditional phii and biblical demons are not related, but during Christian exorcism traditional concepts play an important role. An appended commentary in English helps foreigners understand the background of the Taiwanese worldview.  In the study, the meaning of life, four life-line figures, the view of deity, morality and life are illustrated. Conclusions were: 1) the true self can only be experienced in silence by understanding that this Self is God within; 2) by seeking repose in this Self, one is liberated to effect love and peace in the world; and 3) western theological studies have been deficient in stressing activity to the exclusion of healing and empowerment from
