This project demonstrates that the ministry of worship can be used to offer church council members a more clearly focused and more richly rewarding experience of serving in leadership. This project helps leaders to serve the Lord in faith and good courage while helping them avoid the spiritual dangers of serving self and the powers of darkness in meetings. The focus of this effort is on the moments following alarm or the awareness of stress that is being generated by one's heart. The researcher trained the five men and nine women of the Parish Planning Council on three theological foci: a theology of thinking in crisis, a theology of worship in service, and a theology of leadership in suffering. Each of these monthly sessions was reinforced by a weekly Bible study and a monthly opportunity for a one-on-one meeting where applications of the Alarm Model were made to current issues. As a result, the church is faced with spiritual stagnation that keeps it from growing.  The church has tried in vain to employ various programs to get over this.  Based on the pastoral analysis that the dullness of the class meeting is attributed to the lack of spirit and performance of the class leaders, this paper explores the ten components of servant leadership as a way of restoring the roles of the class leader and activating the function of the class meeting. The desire of the author was to, simultaneously, conduct an effective meeting and develop a true team concept among participating staff members.  The purpose was accomplished through researching how effective meetings are conducted and implementing proven methods into a church staff meeting.  This process was followed for a period of two months with proper evaluative tools designed to show improvement. Olsen in his Worshipful work, is convinced that congregations are hungering for more than simply 'business as usual' at church session meetings. In this project, the issue of developing a viable alternative model for session meetings is focused upon a particular church that is located in rural northeast Missouri. With this understanding, workshops on Charles Olsen's book Transforming church boards into spiritual leaders, community, discernment, and leadership were conducted with the session members. From these workshops, it was determined that the objection to any change, the church being seen as a business, and the desire for quick meetings were some of the more obvious obstacles to the success of the alternative model. The result of the project was the session voted to adapt some of the characteristics of the alternative model for a period of six months to see how it would work in this church.
