However, in the case of those living with the HIV/AIDS virus, the AA church has failed to live up to its creed and conviction. A 12-week Bible study curriculum utilizing cognitive dissonance was implemented to determine its effect on AA Christians toward those living with HIV/AIDS. This thesis-project presents a viable alternative business model for doing good work that focuses on the system of work. It shows how spiritual transformation is necessary to escape from the psychological influences of cognitive dissonance and self-justification. It provides data that show business people are open to being transformed. It was hypothesized that helping them see the difference between their beliefs and their behaviors in relation to their roles as men would develop a cognitive dissonance that would lead to a change in their behaviors. Five spiritual disciplines were identified in the lives of David and his mighty men and Jesus and his disciples and incorporated into the Cavetime Training Program (CTP). Women from the area of greater Trenton, New Jersey, between the ages of 25 and 39 who are not active in church are enlisted as a focus group.  The group format includes guided meditation, personal drawings of God images, and a survey to compare narrative information from women no longer active with that of women currently active in a United Methodist congregation.  The project does not establish a link.  Both focus groups express dissonance with the church's God images while maintaining continuous internal God-imaging. When people are strongly committed to pursuing this dream and at the same time seek to pattern their lives according to the principles of Christianity, they experience some degree of dissonance -- tension and conflict which is often unresolvable.  This project explores dissonance as a phenomenon through a case study of one man and uses a series of lived moments. Pursuing the American dream and following Jesus Christ, though difficult, are not necessarily antithetical. However, 'successful' resolution depends upon the religious maturity of the
