The training further reduced participants' fear of death and increased beneficial styles and types of death acceptance as measured by the Death Attitude Profile-Revised (DAP-R). This report proposes a composite educational methodology using Vygotskyan and Jungian human development theory can provide education care that nurtures senior adult formational maturity in relation to death, dying and bereavement issues. The project employed the Death Anxiety Scale (Nehrke modification) in a pretest and posttest format to measure changes in the level of fear and anxiety in these patients. Evaluation found that 75 percent of the patients experienced relief of fear and anxiety, while fear and anxiety increased in 19 percent. Communion can be used by chaplains to diminish fear and to reestablish connections with God and the faith community among terminally ill patients in a hospice or hospital
