The project director researched various models and strategies of new member assimilation in order to identify the best skills. These skills were essential toward equipping the Historic Macedonia Baptist Church in the assimilation of new members. The director identified not only the necessities, but also the best practices critical for inclusion in equipping seminars. The director also developed a curriculum structured to teach four equipping sessions. The director successfully completed the sessions, thereby equipping selected leaders of Macedonia Baptist Church with new member assimilation skills. The leadership training was formatted as a small group experience so that participants with no prior involvement in a small group both learned leadership skills and grew in appreciation of small group dynamics. The author implemented three strategies in this project: first, initiating and developing an individualized coaching relationship; second, training three ministers to lead their leadership teams through a values-discovering; third, consulting with the ministers to use a values-based decision-making guide to evaluate future plans. To prepare for the project the author researched appropriate literature and developed training material to guide the project implementation. Two such men were provided with training and opportunity to lead and teach Cell Life Groups. Two Cell Groups were formed in high crime areas and those two groups met for six consecutive weeks with members of the community. To achieve the goals for this project, the project director utilized an equipping module. The first phase of the project involved researching many different resources in the field of small groups and small group leadership skills. The project director utilized these resources to produce the lessons used to equip the selected group. The second phase was to develop a seminar, including lesson plans and a student workbook. The final phase of the project involved implementing the seminar for the initial training of the selected group. The seminar consisted of an introduction session, four lessons, a conclusion session and an implementation discussion. The seminar was conducted on four Sunday afternoons. The purpose of the project was to equip lay leaders, in order to fashion, field, and lead an adult leadership team. Goals included: (1) enhancing church leadership and ministries; (2) improving the image of the church in the community; (3) replicating leaders throughout the body; (4) repairing damage from discord and abating internal conflict that has stifled the church's progress over the years. Consulting numerous print and electronic journals, ongoing leadership training programs and pastors, the project director designed a biblically-based teaching module that addresses spirituality, leadership skills training, gifts analysis with service opportunity, and conflict resolution. Another important element is evaluation of the trainees, director, and overall program effectiveness. Kin-life is that quality of relationships within a group that is characterized by commonality, unity, harmony, and a shared interest in the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of others.  The project trained thirteen individuals called ministry leaders to strengthen kin-life in adult Sunday School classes.
