Synagogue affiliation rates are on a steady decline, and American Jews, particularly younger Jews, have lost the historic value of affiliation. Something else is needed to reclaim the collective wisdom of lived theology (Jewishness). It has been impossible for Judaism to speak of God in relation to the world, devoid of Jewish practice. The project thesis is drawn from and reflects years of Jewish-environmental teaching and organizing, assessing congregational interest and involvement in ecological concerns, and attempting to present eco-religion in the most impactful possible way.
