The Korean Presbyterian Church of Westchester's (KPCOW) EM and KM can stay together when they view themselves as a covenantal community founded by Christ based on its baptismal identity rather than its ethnic one. The author evaluated the influence of a sermon series on the way KPCOW understands its identity by analyzing two questionnaires both quantitatively and qualitatively. Second, he evaluated the current bilingual way of preaching and whether it could support creating harmony between Korean members and other ethnic groups at the Alpha Korean Community Church in Washington, DC by interviewing co-pastors, distributing surveys, and receiving professional advice. It presents the challenge for pastors preaching sermons to people from multiple language groups by examining the ingredients of communication and presenting an approach to preparing and delivering sermons. Preaching in English where multiple language groups are present is the resulting seminar that teaches a system of preparing sermons. The preparation of a sermon involves a six step process which is listener-focused. The pastor's effective delivery of these sermons requires an understanding of how verbal and nonverbal categories of preaching will impact listeners of different ethnic groups. The thesis is about developing Mandarin ministry in the Chinese Alliance Churches of Australia. It is to plant a mandarin speaking congregation in a Chinese church using the resources from both Cantonese congregations and second-generation English congregation. Using interviews with churches that have existing Mandarin ministry with mainland Chinese, the author researched and examined the contributing factors to an effective strategy to develop Mandarin ministry. Oromo migration and the Missio Dei, Ethiopia's language policy and its impacts on Oromo language, conquest and incorporation of Oromo into the Ethiopian empire, and history of the Oromo Bible translation and persecution of evangelical Christians in Ethiopia were researched. The data triangulation methodology included surveys, interviews, and audio/videotape recordings. The researcher discovered that, while a majority had an awareness of the congregation's culture and language, only 40% surveyed understood how culture and language applied to their roles as church leaders.
