The study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with three pastors in the Presbyterian Church in America and their wives, who were interviewed separately and as couples. The review of biblical literature and literature in conflict resolution, marriage, and systems theory, along with analysis of the conducted interviews focused on how healthy marriages can grow through times of conflict in the church. It is the thesis of this project that it is possible for the health of pastoral marriages to be enhanced, even in the midst of ministry. The project director wrote, designed, and led two seminars and an overnight retreat in order to address this need. The project noted similarities and differences among the generations represented, and addressed communication, finances, stress and burnout, church problems, time management, parenting, and conflict in the home.  These findings informed a marriage-enrichment retreat for married Bible college students in which 34 individuals participated. This study identified a course of action for offering marriage enrichment to ministry couples.  A couples group was added to a Clinical Pastoral Education unit, an established course of study required by seminaries.  The method was a case study completed with six couples with pre and post testing.  While testing showed slight changes in the marriages, self report included many comments towards marital growth and management of ministry issues.
