A multidisiplinary literature review was undertaken to glean pastoral care insights from the bio-cultural sciences. Additionally it proposes a book which will equip Christians to defend the traditional dualistic view of human nature, or the doctrine of the soul. The author surveyed the history of the dualism/monism debate, the biblical view and the philosophical and scientific arguments for each side, in order to explicate the issue.
