The study uses loss theory, systems theory, and cognitive theory to elucidate the data obtained from surveys of the priests, their wives, and their new co-workers. This project report describes a workshop which utilized research drawn from documents of the American Bishops' Committee on Priestly Life, the theology of Karl Rahner, and the developmental psychology of Erik Erikson.  The workshop, given on three occasions, enabled seminarians to examine their issues of personal growth within the broader perspectives of theology and psychology.
