It was also designed to provide a forum and to create an atmosphere in which Christian characteristics could be incorporated into Christian lives.  The project was conducted in the church through twenty-four sermons on Christian character development and character traits found in biblical personalities.  A study group composed of an inter-generational cross section of the congregation participated in twelve studies and three in-home fellowship meetings. The criteria for the selection was based on their suitability for teaching community values and relationships to young children.  The key moral values taught were love, kindness, caring, friendship, and sharing.  The five biblical stories were used as a center of interest when developing character and teaching values to the three to five-year-old preschoolers. Character education is easier to espouse in the abstract than to provide in the concrete.  So in writing the storytelling curriculum for character development, which I feel was successful, I tried to be as concrete as possible. This study evaluates the methodology used in the delivery of a character-based program focused on universal principles in the context of relationships among public high school students at North Cobb high school in Kennesaw, Georgia.  While not an exhaustive study of character education, this study explores a successful method of facilitating character development.  Three research questions have guided this study: 1. What was the level of character in the target group at North Cobb high school at the beginning of the program? 2. How did the level of character change in the target group at North Cobb high school because of the program? 3. What was the quality of treatment given? The booklet was tested over a five-month period ending with a threefold evaluation.  The project calls for leaders to model Christ for the mentorees.  The report discusses mentoring as exemplified in scripture, and summarizes the difficulties, benefits and lessons learned from the project.  It concludes that mentoring can be done in Cameroon if pastors are appropriately equipped and encouraged. The developmental theories of E Erikson, J Fowler and H Straughn provide the framework for considering the development of an organic corporate entity such as a local congregation.  Reflecting on his experience as a church planter and his own maturation struggles, the writer develops the proposed paradigm.  Then, utilizing an open-ended narrative interview, the author presents case studies of three additional congregations to explore the applicability of his model. From this, a teaching module was developed that served as a catalyst to inspire children to acquire attitudes changes that lead to positive conflict resolution. The project incorporates the virtues of the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and the principles of Kwanzaa which served as the foundation of the project. Seventy-five percent of the pilot group made a positive change toward shalom.
