The research examined the connection between being an image bearer and an image creator of the image bearer; this included developing a philosophy of the portrait and the value attached to it. The field research utilized interviews with professional photographers to understand their approach to photography. The project concluded that the imago Dei should be the primary driver in any discussion of humanity. The themes of humanity, reality, relationship and morality were seen as central to the work of the photographers."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN)"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fccbc3d7-874c-42e3-8a20-621b107c56c7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133025296187392,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:12:43.492Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:02:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:45:27Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c8e97423-1c75-4eb8-bacc-c5d868fa7f0c","accessControl_ssim":["56991e18-22f4-4f89-8937-b181065ef244"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Christian spiritual formation and photography: nature photography as a spiritual discipline"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:02:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:54:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f38b85ba-d222-471a-94e1-6182e2151b94"],"hasLease_ssim":["582ecc24-720e-4b8b-b3ca-46a8368c5fd9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["James Arthur Durlesser"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Margarethe D Galbraith-Cordes"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual life--Christianity","Nature--Religious aspects--Christianity","Photography"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project explores the thesis that reflecting spiritually on nature can deepen our relationship with God. The research project invited participants to take nature photographs and reflect on them with a scripture passage, prayer or devotional thought. Membership decline has been steady and unrelenting. Yet, for a few more years, members remain who can remember a time when this branch of God's Church was vibrant and healthy. Art, in most forms, has been an underutilized resource in the Reformed Tradition. This project was an attempt to explore one approach to using art in the church in an effort to stimulate memory for the purpose of discovering ways that the church might recover its sense of health and vitality. Through this ministry tool, photography was employed to create a communal project that took the form of an exhibition within a local church. A questionnaire was then used to sample the responses of viewers of this exhibit. These responses revealed a wealth of memories and experiences. Conclusions were drawn from these responses for the purpose of strengthening the church and the The Church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720465076322304,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:06:24.254Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":2,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
