The research methodology was a qualitative study of two ministers in the Presbyterian Church in Canada, one a recent graduate and the other a recent immigrant. The project is characterized by its theological emphasis, its sensitivity  to emotional and spiritual needs of sufferers and caregivers, and its relatively short timespan to maximize eldership participation.  The project was field tested in five locations across Canada, gathering data by questionnaires and interviews. An awareness of the dimensions and possibilities for personal meaning, along with a preparation for the use of new hymn images, is explored in a series of congregational workshops.  A phenomenological approach is applied to this qualitative research project. The content of their meetings is outlined, and several assessments of the project are given. The candidate reflects on the project one year after its completion, and suggests a revised model.  It is concluded that Christian realization through families is a valid model for growth and learning in a congregation.
