The premise is supported by analyzing Schleiermacher, Henry, Barth, McFague, Sobrino and Schüssler Fiorenza. The study proceeds by giving a brief biographical sketch of each theologian, then her/his approach to the revealed nature of Scripture is described and an example of his/her use of Scripture is analyzed. The outcomes of each approach are demonstrated by using them to interpret John 4. Making the connections between the various patriarchal structures of oppression is the work of transformation.  This project/thesis focuses particularly on classism, racism, heterosexism and sexism.  The author's personal struggle for liberation from the androcentrism and patriarchy of the Roman Catholic Church is the context of this thesis.  The work of several women-church groups and Elisabeth Schussler Fiorenza's reconstruction of early Christian history reveal elements of transformation which can assist women attempting to engage in the struggle for transformation. Elisabeth Schussler Fiorenza's understanding of patriarchy and androcentrism provides the analytical tools for the work of transformation. It focuses on the problems and possibilities for ministers who share ministry with the same congregation.  From Phyllis Trible's God and the Rhetoric of Sexuality the author takes the definition of feminism as a critique of culture in light of misogyny.  This definition provides the starting point for her critique of ministry.  From Elisabeth Schuessler Fiorenza's book In Memory of Her she learns the ways of feminist hermeneutics which serve as a critical tool for viewing the development of the church and ministry and as a constructive tool for seeing and creating new possibilities in ministry. Shared ministry, the possibility which the author envisions, applies a feminist hermeneutics to the life of the church.
