Northern Thai Christians provide insight into traditional and biblical phii and the  project assesses the influence of traditional spirit concepts on biblical understanding.  According to Thai Christian understanding, traditional phii and biblical demons are not related, but during Christian exorcism traditional concepts play an important role. The study uses the Old Testament to research terms as they related to spirit beings, their power, the practices associated with them, and the locating of key texts dealing with this topic. All of this material was used as the basis to define a biblical view of the spirit world.
