The historic and contemporary use of supervision as a modality in ministerial, social work, and teacher education was examined.  Experienced ministers and recent ministerial graduates were interviewed regarding their experiences of being supervised during preordination education. Chapter two compares the Uniting Church in Australia and the Korean Church in Korea.  Chapter three presents a servant church model.  Chapter four describes the structure and future plans of the Korean migrant church. The research involves pastors of the Parramatta/Nepean Presbytery.  Methods include personal and group discussion and questionnaires.  The results indicate that pastors are in need of pastoral care and that mateship is an acceptable model for such care. The project establishes support groups from which pastors are able to choose mates for mutual pastoral care. The study examines the crisis, the denomination's historical and social origins, basis of union, and current mission strategies. Twenty-two key issues were identified by survey and used to design a program for ministry reflection groups meeting every three weeks. Three pilot groups (1982) and four test groups (1983) used the material.  Transition by the test ministers was compared with that of four contemporaries.  Further experiment with the program as part of an integrated approach to transition during the first three years after ordination is recommended.  Some questions are also raised about the style of theological
