The informants were selected on the basis of their commitment and level of participation in the center.  This qualitative research encompassed a semistructured interview guide.  Five clients and five counselors were interviewed to determine the effectiveness of using womanist theology in the development of a pastoral counseling center.  The conclusion indicates that it is useful to use womanist theology in the development of a pastoral counseling center. To address this need, 12 adults in Daebang Methodist Church were trained in the understanding and practice of Christian contemplation.  The project was grounded in a study of the biblical, theological, historical, and psychological approaches to spiritual theology and Christian contemplation, in comparison with the practice of contemplation in other religions in Korea. Changes in the understanding and practice of contemplation through the 26-session training course, which were measured by a written pre/post questionnaire, took place in the areas of faith development, value of life, and experience of sanctification. It was based on an approach to confirmation as a process of identity formation. The project concluded with a 'mission worship' led by the youth in which samulnori and other aspects of Korean culture were introduced into the confirmation service. The course content was developed out of a study of biblical and theological foundations of mission, a review of the history of Korean overseas mission, and a survey of present understandings of mission in these same five churches.  Questionnaires administered before and after the course indicated changed attitudes toward critical issues in overseas missions policy and practice. The results of this project revealed that the teachers have a strong sense of vocation and commitment as teachers. The design included an in-depth interview with four women between the ages of forty-eight and seventy-six.  The analysis sought to identify the attachment patterns, discuss how those impacted personality, and discern if one's religious experience could modify those patterns. It was based on a theology of church as body of Christ and ministry as the priesthood of all believers, a historical study of Wesley's class meetings, and an integral model of ministry. The British school of object relations theory, especially Fairbairn and Guntrip, shows that 'splitting,' related to the introjection of the 'bad object,' is essential to a differentiated self.  Psychopathology stems from rigidifying splits in the self.  Healing depends on release of 'bad objects' in a transformational relationship, including transference with the therapist as 'good object.' The project was based on biblical, theological, and psychological studies of spirituality, midlife, and spiritual formation, with special emphasis on Jungian perspectives, developmental psychology, and the Korean concept of han, and focusing on the issues and needs of midlife.
