Once there, if warmly welcomed, they will complete a visitor registration card whereby prospect information can be obtained.  The method of study used was a combination of observation, numerical comparisons, and surveys. The methodologies utilized to achieve this goal consisted of council and congregational teaching and training, survey instruments based upon the Likkert format and control group input.  The project revealed that worship council members rated novel worship techniques employed during the project with higher marks than their control group counterparts. Each exercise was based on one of the tasks of mourning that Wm Worden discussed in his book, Grief Counseling and Grief Therapy. These exercises were used in a group setting consisting of six single adult women. Two were widows, three were divorced and one had lost a brother to AIDS. This project gave a forum for writers in the Kansas City Kansas Baptist Association.  Of the pool of forty-three eligible churches and missions at the beginning of the project, nine participated.  While the project was designed to indicate success with eight participants, not only was this goal surpassed but others have indicated a desire to participate at a later time.  A journal was produced with editing at a later time. Using a sermon series built upon a motivational gift model taken from Romans 12:6-8, the project exposed participants to the dynamics, characteristics, and possible service opportunities of each gift.  Instruments used to evaluate the effectiveness of the project include an evaluation form for each session, a pretest and a posttest, and a motivational gift inventory. As a followup to this study, the annual planning session for the church was conducted and a new mission statement was developed with visioning and goal-setting. The first step involves stating the discrepancy, the second step is an analysis of the ambiguities, and the third step is finding God's solution to the problem.
