Over eight monthly sessions, ten teachers--five beginning and five experienced--reflected on the meaning of the vocation to teach in a Catholic high school.  In the experience teachers formed one another collaboratively through their questions, stories, examples and passion for the Catholic education project. Spiritual well-being is defined as Christlikeness related to mankind as created in the image of God.  The eight categories of Christian maturity measured by the Religious Status Inventory, developed at Fuller Graduate School of Psychology, further refine the definition of spiritual well-being. It documents an action in ministry consisting of a series of ten experimental sermons which were intended to be therapeutic for listeners.  These sermons began with the ten 'irrational beliefs' from Albert Ellis' rational-emotive therapy, and reframed common psychological problems in terms of the Christian gospel. The author sought to discover whether or not such a ministerial identity appropriation took place; how students recognized such an appropriation; and to what extent the process of theological reflection in the seminar setting was critical to the act of appropriation. The developmental theories of E Erikson, J Fowler and H Straughn provide the framework for considering the development of an organic corporate entity such as a local congregation.  Reflecting on his experience as a church planter and his own maturation struggles, the writer develops the proposed paradigm.  Then, utilizing an open-ended narrative interview, the author presents case studies of three additional congregations to explore the applicability of his model. The project describes the development of a rotating church shelter in the community. From the initial planning to the evaluation of the effect on the community, this report describes the impact the church had regarding homelessness.  The success of this project resulted in the interaction between churches across denominational lines. Since racism was a major problem among the urban native people, he decided to begin his qualitative research with this problem.  He designed a series of six sessions based on the pastoral circle.  Meeting with groups of elders, adults and youth, he was seeking an aboriginal model for social action.  The discoveries not only revealed that the native people contributed to a deepening of the phases of the pastoral circle, but they also revealed a 'life cycle' which is analogous to the pastoral circle.  It begins with vision, moves through time, comes to wisdom or practical knowledge, and concludes with movement, which is the action flowing from the wisdom.
