Results indicate that: lay people can be effectively engaged in theological reflection; lay training committees can be significant vehicles for developing new partnership perspectives in the church and seminary; and that interaction developed within the process can have transforming effects upon relationships within the church, and can assist in refocusing the sense of calling for clergy, seminarians and laity. The method of investigation included a theological study of the process and the obtaining of data from pastors and church committees through questionnaires and interviews.  The result of the study indicate that plannaging is suitable for use in a church, is helpful for administration, and that pastors lack confidence in the use of plannaging following training. Details include a month-long educational emphasis with adult and youth classes, a community-wide seminar, bulletin board display, sermon outline and preparations for formulating an AIDS policy statement. This project increased each congregation's self-knowledge and self-esteem as each remembered its history and traditions and then used that knowledge to produce a 'mission statement' outlining what God wants it to be and do in its community. This study involved the placement process within the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida during the past five years. Thirty parishes were evaluated after placement of clergy to determine the matching process' success.  The result of the examination indicated that the process works when followed carefully and without circumvention.
