The purpose of this study is to discover if the curriculum can be effective in the black Baptist church as presently designed. The thesis of this paper is the importance of Christian education in the church, most specifically the black Baptist church.  The method of doing this study is through personal interviews of directors, teachers, pastors and students who are affiliated with the center using the above listed curriculum. Active listening, articulating personal needs, triangulation, and four ego defenses, drawn primarily from Virginia Satir and Murray Bowen's ideas, were explored through verbal presentations, skits, and discussions.  As a result, the participants were better able to identify potential problem patterns of communication.  They were also able to successfully apply this learning to their marriages one month later. This project attempts to bring to the forefront the realities of incest by reviewing some statistical information and published literature on incest within a feminist framework.  It also presents the voices of seventeen young women who were incest victims.  A profile of the incestuous family based on the seventeen testimonies is offered in the form of a case study which is written in the voice of the victim/survivor and has a Christian slant. The training program consisted of six sessions which made the counselors aware of the feelings of grief, and how they might effectively relate to persons in grief.  After training, seven of the ten persons trained were willing to be assigned to bereaved persons whom they contacted on a regular basis.  These contacts proved to be helpful to the bereaved persons over the six months to a year that they related to them.
