Biblical, theological and personal definitions of salvation provide a faith basis with which the author relates the perspectives and methods of Transactional Analysis and gestalt therapy, in particular.  A processive, rather than a static, view of salvation provides the basic theological perspective for relating pastoral counseling and salvation.  James E Loder's four-dimensional model by which he explored the dynamics of convictional experiences is criticized and expanded by process theology's perspective.  An adapted Loderian model then provides a four-dimensional structure through which the author analyzes four case studies of psychotherapy processes and dynamics. The results pointed to a close relationship between members' work and their belief in Jesus Christ.  Members claim to worship God through their work. This worship through work is activistic rather than pietistic. To aid in training, the writer has developed a workshop guide through which even unskilled storytellers can help each other improve their skills, especially with use of tape recorders. Foundation studies covered the Korean church school context and the psychological, theological, and biblical backgrounds of story. By using a semantic differential technique, responses to both metaphorical and propositional language were measured. The function of metaphor is examined in regard to clarity, emotion, beauty, imagination, detail, meaning and appeal. Both the statistical significance and practical significance of this are discussed.  The relationship of analogous language to cerebral specialization and logical positivism is noted. Building upon Lonergan's thesis that a person needs to accept the responsibility to transform him/herself, his/her worlds, and his/her meanings, the dissertation examines a Pauline anthropology to consider the possibilities to equip persons with cognitive insights so that they might be able to do so.
