Demonstrating the interrelationship between effective contextual mission, Christ-centered worship, and koinonia/body life, he developed a project that sought to enhance all three functions.  By means of the ministry of the Word, the 'Balligo Church Advance', and the systems models approach to pastoral leadership, the pastor and church became effectively involved in contextual mission. Library research, interviews, and class notes provided the theological basis for this thesis/project. Education is one means of bringing about a more realistic view.  To carry out this purpose, the study uses the andragogical model of education, as delineated by Knowles, to focus on a process of reflection and action among a small group of adults from five congregations in downtown Indianapolis.  In addition to library research, the study uses questionnaires, interviews, and observation to guide the inquiry. Composition-naive exegesis stands in dialectical tension with legitimate historical-critical exegesis.  Hermeneutic--the text as subject--emerges as a result of employing these antithetical methodological exegeses.  The compositional-naive method is holistic, concentrating on the discovery of the text's Gestalt.  The method is demonstrated and the author's(s') 'manifestations' for Ephesians, Colossians and Philemon are indicated. Emphasis and application of truth were laid on seven basic areas of marital needs: purpose, five parables of Christ, self-image, communication, trust, sexuality and spirituality.  Fourteen persons attended the workshop for thirteen weeks.  A pre-test and a post-test were carefully coded. Participants reported their marriages were enriched.  The data showed areas which were not affected and where other courses could be developed. To obtain information the study uses attitude questionnaires among the church members and family interviews with the public housing population. Surveys mailed to 10 per cent of the pastors in churches affiliated with Independent Fundamental Churches of America (IFCA) were used to ascertain styles of management practiced in IFCA churches.  Pastors were asked to choose which of five statements pertaining to basic management functions best described how they felt, thought or acted.  The overall picture which developed placed these pastors on a grid indicating their concern for people and/or mission. The primary training is done by lay people.  A case study method was used in the evaluation of the program. The author is Episcopalian, and suggestions are made to adapt the model for any paedo-baptist denomination.
