Chapter three investigates the psychological and social dimensions of human need. Chapter four delineates the relevant factors necessary for the implementation of the ministry project. Chapter five provides a complete evaluation. The author concluded that the discipleship model training was effective in providing lay people with some basic skills necessary to provide interpersonal ministry to hurting people. Seventeen people took the discipleship model training; twelve of the participants indicated a willingness to become involved in a people-helping ministry initiated by their church. The author plans to market the discipleship model training to churches and individuals through the Grace Walk Ministry office."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["55f1694e-f3f1-43ea-8ca9-da9a2899defe"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129352407089152,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:14:20.752Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:45:14Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:52:53Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4287fffd-3452-4acd-8501-181eac5b62d7","accessControl_ssim":["39cf2e55-7f8f-4bef-b9a5-f8f43ce31e73"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A project to equip four typical Southern Baptist churches in the Dallas Baptist Association to start a community ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T20:45:13Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:03:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["51272540-169d-49b6-b671-9d2a8d332a4c"],"hasLease_ssim":["8d5f5fd5-a5ef-4d90-bfd1-6dada46f6571"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Francis M DuBose"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"location_tesim":["Texas--Dallas"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Lanny Elmore"],"publisher_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church history","Church and social problems--Baptists"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to equip four typical Southern Baptist churches in the Dallas Baptist Association to start one ministry in the community served by the church. The biblical support for the project is established through examining the Old Testament inclusions of 'sojourners' and New Testament concepts of discipleship, spiritual gifts, and loving others. Psychological factors of assimilation are established through Abraham Mallows' hierarchy of needs. Church models and secular models are examined also. Chapter four sets forth the actual components of the project: membership class, membership interview, fellowship ministry, and a sermon series on 'Keeping People.' Chapter five reveals that the membership class and membership interview were the most effective components of the project.
