Statistical data was collected for over 600 churches in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church for the years 1974 to 2014. Graphs were generated that plotted average worship attendance for that range of years for each of those churches and, concurrently, the pastoral leadership of those churches. This project found a decrease in average worship attendance for the Conference, but also found evidence of vitality in many congregations and pastors. Rapid urbanization, unprecedented economic prosperity giving rise to a new middle-class, tied together with the adoption of the one-child policy in 1981 have created a new set of challenges to church leaders seeking to reach the new generation for Christ. The traditional house church, born in persecution from the government, with its emphasis on separation from the world and zealous personal piety, is no longer able to effectively reach the new generation with the gospel. Using a methodology developed from Latin@ theologies and the tool of web ethnography, the author studies the web and social media sites of four HSIs in different geographic regions. Critical pedagogies and LatCrit theory provide lenses to evaluate the data gathered through web ethnographies. He presents insights from interviews with community stakeholders along with creative marketing strategies to launch a capital campaign to keep members excited. The Reclaiming Wholistic Health and Well-Being Clergy Women's Health Initiative utilized a covenant peer group model, an overnight retreat, health professional/spiritual director consultations, and an online and in person communication forums to facilitate theological reflection and engagement in spiritual disciplines to cultivate healthy habits in five dimensions of health: spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and financial. This thesis was that prevailing church culture and teaching related to homosexuality tend to inhibit open conversation about the meaning and impact of the erotic energy experienced in a sexually-diverse community. The purpose of this project was to develop a ministry evangelism strategy for Ridglea Heights Baptist Church, Escatawpa, Mississippi. The project was focused upon four main phases. First, the project director researched contemporary practices of evangelism ministry to determine what practices may be effective in the local community. Second, using demographic data and a local community needs survey, the project director and team analyzed the needs and lifestyles of the community in Escatawpa, Mississippi. Third, using a strategy team consisting of active church members, the project director developed a ministry evangelism strategy for Ridglea Heights Baptist Church in an effort to reach those in the local community who are not connected to another local church body. In 2011, Liberty Hill Baptist Church took a step toward racial reconciliation by joining the Southern Baptist Convention. Parishioners, some of whom migrated from the South, expressed concerns about joining 'that racist organization.' However, despite their concerns, Liberty Hill voted overwhelmingly to join the SBC. Buried in the pile of 1,145 resolutions from 1845 to 2017 are resolutions specifically impacting African Americans.
