Urban dwellers often face unique, challenging circumstances that require wisdom. The Book of Proverbs, often challenging to preach, is a rich source of God's wisdom, especially when understood in the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The primary purpose of this phenomenological study is to capture and describe their lived experiences from an emic perspective by conducting a one-year field research that utilized a sequential procedure of applying mixed research methods. The researcher discovered the construction of universal identity and the use of social media and information technology in evangelism. She also heard the urgent cry for spiritual support for a growing CBC youth population. This project focuses on three congregations and how they responded to the inclusion of popular culture in worship and small group studies. This report surveys three churches that engaged popular culture as a lens through which to encounter God and a way to see God active in the world around them. The researcher collected data from multiple sources including ethnographic interviews and field research with participant observations. The Oasis Chapel developed a missional identity and stepped out to help the survivors in Minamisanriku after the Great East Japan Earthquake. These are questions that began to identify and evaluate the traits in healthy couples. While many studies focus on factors that negatively affect marriages, this study will center on those traits that are seen to strengthen a marriage. Two methods of research were used. First, non-experimental, descriptive quantitative surveys to qualify healthy couples. Second, qualitative, personal interviews were conducted with the healthy couples. Commitment and communication are necessary traits for a healthy marriage with commitment being more essential.
