An ethnographic approach to ten church plants were included in this study. Three of the plants were investigated further with additional site visits, surveys and interviews with leaders and members of the church plant community. Four key principles were identified that contributed to the success of the church plant. The research highlights these points: (a) Many conservative evangelical women live within a male-preferred cultural context that defines them through a model of goodness and inequality. (b) Historically, some of these women have sought an identity beyond home and family. (c) In response to the feminist movement, many conservative evangelical churches grounded women's identity in the home, family, and church. (d) The church's response created an ongoing theological debate about women's roles that negatively affects women. The biblical research defines female personhood through the doctrine of the imago Dei and explores its meaning for women today by relating the imago Dei with the doctrine of Christology. Several of Paul's scriptural passages with regard to women are also interpreted through these two doctrines. Finally, the research findings confirm that some conservative evangelical Christian women report a depressive mood and that there are various reasons why. This is needed to (a) develop people's gifts and talents for service unto God, (b) better equip members in the church for leadership roles and (c) make sure that each member has equal opportunity to use his or her gift to the glory of God. For any change to happen, as well as for any possible solutions, leaders of Haitian churches will need to be educated. The author explores several roadblocks to spiritual formation such as functional Deism, family of origin issues, Old Covenant ministry practices, and the basic principles of the world, in an attempt to discover an effective way to deal with thsoe obstacles. He presents a theological backdrop for pastoral ministry that places relationship with God at the heart of the narrative, reviews writings of Gregory of Nyssa, Bernard of Clarvaux, Jonathan Edwards, and surveys germane material from neurobiology and attachmetn theorists. Preaching extemporaneously allows the minister to sustain eye contact with listeners and it also enables the preacher's speech patterns to be more conversational and hence more alive, and immediate, appealing to post modern audiences. Much has been written about extemporaneous preaching but there is a dearth of comprehensive and consistent information on how to do it. The thesis of this project is that various authors who have written methodologies on how to preach without notes can be synthesized into a comprehensive and usable application for preaching without notes. Data from listeners in a congregation suggests that preaching that is engaging and immediate is favored whether from notes or not. According to the National Organization on Disability/Harris Surveys of Americans with Disabilities, 47% of Americans with disabilities attend religious services at least once per month, compared to 65% of those without disabilities. Most congregations work to be hospitable and welcoming but physical barriers are easier to remove than stereotypical attitudes. Research indicates that virtually all pastors have predecessors and many pastors fail early in the transition to a new church assignment. The author suggests that pastors who have a plan for their preaching can accelerate a successful leadership transition. This course is designed primarily for Christian university and seminary students preparing for ministry. Initial qualitative research revealed potential for improvement within the diaconate in a variety of formational, structural and perceptual domains. An eight week training process entitled Bridgebuilders was developed, operating under the thesis that it would have a slight but beneficial effect upon these domains. This project seeks to implement Customer Relationship Management (CRM) as a tool for developing services to all customer segments of any local church and, therefore, can be applied to the corporate leaders. Lessons from business have demonstrated the CRM is difficult to implement. A CRM framework, such as Gartner's eight block model, would help local churches leverage the benefits of CRM while avoiding the known risks. The difference between the pretest and posttest in the desire of the Christian adolescents to abstain from premarital sex was statistically significant.
