The relationship between smaller membership churches and the presbytery is of particular concern. The author used surveys and multiple intervention strategies with smaller membership congregations within the Presbytery of Geneva, New York. Her conclusions include that transformational leadership that promotes healthy, vital, and tranformed communities of faith is paramount. Some are involved in music department ensembles which require their participation, several are over-involved in leadership activities, and others have rigorous majors. These student leaders need at least two formational realities: a spiritual formation model that does not add another layer of activity to their already hectic lives, and an intentional formational relationship with a pastoral educator-mentor who can help them engage in meaningful practices of Christian spiritual formation and deepen their skills in worship leadership. Distinctive pilot groups allowed the author to research, investigate, and delineate ideas and models for intentional formation mentoring. First, the project director researched spiritual disciplines and effective methods used in teaching children. Second, he developed a course to train selected parents in these discipleship skills. Third, he implemented the course by training selected parents.  Participants attended five sessions on selected disciplines, and they took a pre-test and post-test to aid in evaluation. This thesis was tested with pre- and post-study surveys of A welcoming life participants. Results show that participants changed their beliefs about hospitality and God's desire for them to share their faith and their behavior regarding the frequency with which they share their faith and invite others to their churches. The writing focuses on how Christians can maintain integrity in the workplace. The theoretical section identifies various business and social forces that work against maintaining one's integrity on the job and examines current research in the theology of work for its implications to laboring Christians. The project portion assesses and summarizes the theoretical factors and develops a structured Power Point course to teach theological, social, business and ethical considerations to working churchgoers. It bases theology for the pastoral care by the practical and hopeful narrative. Seven African style intergenerational Bible studies were created to facilitate the healing, sustaining, guiding, and reconciling of Jesus within the church family.
