Emphasis is given to imagination, subversion of stereo-type, immigration and the discipline of hospitality. 50 Evangelical Christians from Otter Creek Church participated in a 4 month dialog on the responsibility of Christians toward Muslims in the US. This resulted in moderate to significant changes in perceptions, attitudes and stereo-types. Working with terminal patients, the author created exploration sheets to go with each spiritual practice to guide the conversations between the patient and the chaplain in a hospice and palliative care setting. It presents research conducted by examining the staff listings found on congregational websites, analyzing denominational statistics on non-clergy compensation, and surveying lay church staff and pastors. It finds that an estimated 40,000 lay staff work in United Methodist congregations. A policy capturing study was conducted engaging thirteen congregations of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Six congregations had planted independent congregations.  Six congregations had planted multi-site venues. One congregation had used both models of church planting. The primary component for information gathering was a survey seeking information on how each church decided which model to follow. The participants in this study were Christian women from various denominations who had experienced an offense that they found so egregious that it impacted their ability to move forward. The project examines human and divine forgiveness. Using the Scriptures, workshops, movies, writings and one-on-one counseling sessions with these participants, the dissertation also defines some of these offenses as they relate to similar offenses in the Bible. Personal testimonies realistically depict our everyday life and are at the core of who we are as Christians. In sharing our testimony of what God has done for us in a corporate worship service, we create the space for authentic God-talk to take place among Christians. The basic hypothesis is that since the advent of the megachurch, the small Black churches have followed the trend and exchanged the mid-week testimony and Bible study service for the 'pastor's Bible study.' In losing the testimony service, members lost the vehicle to share their stories and experiences of the Holy Spirit and how they have overcome in difficult situations. Prior to my arrival as Director of Music in July of 2006, worship was characterized by a strong sense of 'performance' of the spoken word and musical liturgy. As we welcome new members and continue to seek ways to live out our covenant to honor and celebrate people of all races, cultures, ages, abilities, sexual orientations and gender identities, our worship must also reflect this acknowledgment of diversity in our community, and must inform our shared experience of the divine in all of our lives. Nine woven garments were completed and have been shared in four ministry contexts. The author's understanding of redemption was expanded by liberation theologians. The beatitudes and fruit of the Spirit proved to be a strong foundation for the work of art.
