Three phases were incorporated into the project: research, development, and implementation. The research phase consisted of investigating various community ministry strategy methods. The developmental phase consisted of using the research findings to develop material for the project retreat that the student planned for group training. In order to accomplish the goals of this project, the project director researched the topic of leadership and identified various skills of servant leadership. From the skills identified, the director identified two and researched them further: 'the character of a servant leader' and 'the vision of a servant leader.' The project consisted of a leadership workshop made up of five one-hour sessions given over a perios of Friday evening through Saturday morning. The first session was an introduction to servant leadership. In sessions two and three, about the character of a servant leader, the focus was on the skills of humility, values, and integrity.
