These environments hold hardships which can cause physical, psychological, spiritual, and/or ministry stresses. Mission agencies need to provide more effective pastoral care to mitigate early attrition from high-risk fields.  Qualitative methodology was used to study the expectations, stressors, coping attitudes and behaviors, and member care services received by workers. The joy and fruit of ministry far outweighed the costs and risks of service for these servants. The thesis project workshop was designed, using music listening exercises along with the kinetic experience of creating visual art, to determine if the imagination can be stimulated to craft more vibrant sermons in a persuasive rhetoric of pathos. Quantitative research evaluation, experienced by evaluating the preaching in the workshop and further in participant interviews, revealed that this workshop stimulated the preachers to use musical language and vivid imagery, supporting the purpose of the thesis. It would appear that similar workshops might be very helpful for use in the preparation of seminary students of homiletics, or an ongoing gathering of clergy colleagues. Although each of these multiethnic churches have come to the same conclusion regarding the importance of being united and inclusive based on their biblical understanding of the New Testament, they have important differences in their strategies. Upon closer examination of each of these representative multiethnic churches, one finds variations because of differing motivations for doing multiethnic ministry. This study focuses on examining these variations.
