If the biblical writers purposefully used rhetorical devices in their writings, then it seems to be a preacher's obligation to deliver sermons incorporating literary devices. The Book of Esther was the focus of this study, and was analyzed and interpreted from the literary/rhetorical point of view. These seven words which start with the letter 'c' represent seven biblical elements of evangelism. This project produced lessons for a particular congregation so they could learn and practice personal evangelism according to these seven biblical elements of evangelism. This report explored the biblical foundations and the theological reflections of these seven biblical elements and formulated them into a ten-lesson course. A pre-teaching survey of the knowledge of the students about these elements and a similar post-teachng survey served as the guidelines for the course design as well as the basis for the evaluation of the teaching. The act of ministry provided two opportunities to educate parishioners about their parish day school and about Episcopal schools in order to increase support for the school as a ministry of the parish. Quantitative and qualitative assessments were made through surveys and a focus group. These assessments suggest that providing opportunities to welcome and educate parishioners about their parish school can increase support for the school and improve the school-parish relationship. The theological foundation incorporates the missio dei, hospitality, and the Trinity. Consultations with professors and church leaders both in India and in the US, the proposal, ethnography, and the reporting spanned twenty-six months. Twenty constituents including the youth who left, youth currently attending, parents, and pastors were interviewed along with questionnaires. The findings reveal that the youth left because these congregations have been lacking active ministries. Therefore, Weinhold created a 'Healthy Boundaries' curriculum including a participant's manual for churches. Utilizing an evaluative research design, a one day workshop was offered to 12 lay persons and pastors. The workshop progressed from personal to pastoral to legal boundaries. Data analysis employed the spiral steps of qualitative research authored by Leedy and Ormord (2005). All Christians are required to grow spiritually. In both Testaments, God revealed himself as a holy God, and commands that all his children be holy. Books and even courses on spiritual formation cannot, in and of themselves, produce spiritual transformation in believers' lives. Only the Holy Spirit can form and shape them into the image of Christ. With that in mind, the present project entailed the development of a course on spiritual formation at Faculté de Théologie Evangélique de l'Alliance Chrétienne (FATEAC). Through multiple interviews at sites in Oregon and Washington, the author discovered that welcoming newcomers requires the church to adopt a missional mindset that serves the community. Congregants individually serve where the community sees a need and build relationships that provide a basis for introducing friends to Jesus.
