Thus two hypotheses were studied using the case study method in two 'vision achieving' churches: (1) There is an association between those hiring decision-makers in the local church who pray and the church actually fulfilling its vision; and (2) There is an association between those hiring decision-makers in the local church who use best business hiring practices and a church actually fulfilling its vision. The problem that the project addresses is the challenge of introducing and using media in the life and ministry of all churches, regardless of the demographics of the congregation in relation to size, age or even financial status. The objective of the project is to show media as a means of grace to be used in the life of all churches, to give examples of its use, and to make the medium holy. When the technology of media is introduced (prevenience), explained and exemplified (justification), enabling all persons to find value in its use to proclaim the gospel, making it holy in the eyes of the local congregation (sanctification), another means of grace is recognized in the 21st century church's mission efforts. This project determined the most significant issues that pastors and families of forced exits need to address after they leave their church and during the time of transition. This project used interviews and questionnaires of leaders of ministries who work regularly with pastors of forced exits. Ten issues were identified as being the most important issues for pastors of forced exits to address. A process of application was developed and then implemented during a ten week sermon series which was evaluated by a peer as well as congregational group. The author improved measurably during the process. Traditionally, this task of preparing full-time church leaders has been given to the seminary without any examination of the other options available. Through case study and grounded theory, this project revealed seven components that can address this problem. These components are essential whether the leadership development process is in partnership with a seminary or whether it is completely church-based. The author interviewed six leaders from each of five churches in Toronto, Canada, and observed two worship services of each church. Data presented and common themes were drawn out. Writers on the intercultural church postulate that leaders must intentionally lead a church to become intercultural. The author found that in four out of the five study churches the leaders did not intend their congregation to become intercultural. and renewed focus on church planting in North America. This project examines one of the ways to increase effectiveness in church planting through the development and execution of a church-based church planting residency program. It examines the assessment, training, and support provided to church planters through case studies of two different types of church planting residency programs. These case studies outline the assessment and recruitment strategies, and then examines their training and equipping models. Finally, it describes how these planters are supported after completing their residency. The goal of this study is to assist Ambassador Church in developing a church-based church planting residency program.
