The desire to do this research comes from the biblical mandate given by the Lord Jesus Christ to make disciples (Matt 28:19-20). Developing God's people into leaders who demonstrate Christ-like character is not only the greatest need in the world today, but also in today's church; therefore, developing competent spiritual leadership through discipleship must be its top priority. The following questions are answered: What can churches do to prepare men and women to develop into godly leaders? What can Waukegan Community Church do to become a disciple-making reproducing church? Will Discipleship for leadership make a significant contribution in helping Waukegan Community Church become a disciple-making, leader-developing church? The thesis-project explores contemporary understandings of prophecy and mysticism, and how a prophetic-mystical style of leadership might be appropriated by Catholic school leaders. AI is a process that can lead to vision discernment by building on past successes and creating a sense of missional alignment. AI is based on organizational and social theory that, when combined with theological understandings, provide the church and leadership with a methodology for discernment that will engage a large portion of a congregation. This is a grounded study that engaged a 1200+ membership church in a large AI. African Americans are losing their heirs' property on John's Island at an alarming rate. The story of Naboth's vinyard (I Kings 21) serves as a model to discuss the effects that wealth and those with social power have on this land loss. The answer a Christian gives to the problem of a loving God co-existing with the world's ills will necessarily affect his or her relationship with God. The research took place within five discussion groups; the researcher designed each session to cover one particular aspect of theodicy. Participants filled out questionnaires before and after each class. The researcher analyzed the differences between the pre- and post-class surveys.
