The project reviewed worldview, contextualization and biblical elements relating to making Irish disciples. The literature search conducted followed the development of Celtic spirituality along with two counter themes or antithetical elements, Christianity and the English in Ireland. Fifty-two questionnaires and three interviews of Irish were evaluated with the literature research to formulate and understanding of present day Celtic spirituality in western central Ireland. Drawing on the history of early Salvation Army preaching into critical conversation with the felt realities of postmodernity, this thesis argues for a recovery of biblical preaching that seeks to name what is at stake for the listener. Since these church plants were virtually identical in terms of time and style of service, the need arose to develop something antiparadigmatic. With a rationale in place for a hybrid church to meet on an alternate night, next came the planning and research phase, culminating in the launch of 'The Journey.' One year later 'The Journey' came to an abrupt end. What went wrong? This project aimed at encouraging Scripture reading in the Sunday worship service of C\u0026MA churches. It involved fifteen C\u0026MA pastors who used a three-month segment of a four-year Bible reading schedule, developed for this project. Each Sunday they read the assigned reading and material given to them to help them prepare for and introduce the reading. They then filled out a questionnaire, which attempted to evaluate their reactions and ideas concerning the three-month implementation period. They also filled out a short questionnaire three months after they completed the implementation period. This questionnaire sought to identify if they were still reading Scripture regularly in worship and why they were or were not continuing in this biblical practice. The study includes one hundred staff nurses at a medical center in central California in which the risk of compassion fatigue was measured prior to intervention.  The intervention included eight hours of workshop and three follow-up sessions in which steps to reduce compassion fatigue were introduced. There were twenty-two participants in the intervention and every participant indicated in the post workshop measurement a significant reduction in compassion fatigue risk. Research was conducted on the topics of self-care and burnout. An examination of the Gospels had as a goal finding a model of self-care in Jesus' life. An attempt was made to reconcile the command to 'deny self' and 'to love your neighbor as yourself'. A course involving self-care techniques and examples from the life of Jesus was developed and taught to seventeen laity.
