Attention was given to principles that with a biblical basis. Chapter 4 recounts the 15 weeks of training with limited evaluation. Chapter 5 is an analysis and evaluation. Directive Mentoring fuses the relational strength of mentoring with the learning strength of discipleship to form Christian character through encouragement, accountability and biblical praxis. Six strategic lay-leaders participated in the documented, three month pilot project. Some 150 D.Min. graduates of these institutions rated twenty-six leadership characteristics (taken from the example of the life of the Aposte Paul) as to their importance as qualities of a church leader annd the perceived effect their training had toward developing them. The contemplative prayer exercise program at the Zion Korean United Methodist Church in Carson City, California, showed a positive result after analyzing the pre-program questionnaires, the post-program questionnaires, and the session meetings. The methodology included a survey, preaching and teaching about hospitality, group participant journals and field notes. The findings revealed an increased understanding of the importance and complexity of the practice of hospitality in the church.
