The expectation was that exposure to alternatives to Darwinist explanations of origin in high school would result in religious practice in college and that there would be a negative correlation between a student's attitude toward Darwinism as an explanation and church attendance. An online survey of thirty-two questions was conducted on one-hundred seventy-five respondents. Using transformational learning theory, a learning model is developed to help prospective members discover or deepen their understanding of God's grace. The research identified, described, and held in conversation three influential contexts of 'bamboo, borders, and bricks' for Lao theology, and applied these contexts to create Christian responses to poor housing through biblical and folk stories, re-worked housing rituals, and community organizing with artistic poetry, songs, and visuals. This research project proposes the possibility that an experience of the community surrounding a particular church can serve to knit the congregation together with the missio Dei.
