To promote the acceptance of covenant-making, a three-step process includes assessment, instruction and training, and implementation for a facilitator to follow based upon exegetical and theological proofs supported by supplemental sociology research. It is shaped by subsequent attempts to define the denomination in the context of American culture. Two significant schisms, O'Kelly Republican Methodism in 1792 and Methodist Protestantism in 1828, represent these challenges to Wesley's construct. They also set the contextual reference for a 2005 United Methodist Judicial Council decision on church membership, and its implications for the future of the denomination."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799719017174269952,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:43:23.427Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:42:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:17:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"993a5886-758d-4e40-bc9d-6a01eae4ac2c","accessControl_ssim":["b1e74ef2-6c4d-405a-b8b1-0244a165f483"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Transforming small church families, through the use of spiritual practices"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:42:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:36:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["333ec6aa-f479-47f9-bcf1-0ac3494138d9"],"hasLease_ssim":["954c6ca5-d422-4846-9b14-8b496e3a03f8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The Virginia United Methodist Annual Conference offered to welcome those made homeless by this storm. An embrace of biblical hospitality moves mission from a 'helper/helpee' relationship to a transformational mission in which all are changed.
