The purpose was to facilitate Christian-Muslim dialogue in a post-9/11 America. The project brought together Christian women interested in engaging with Muslim women. The methodology speaks to the observation that Muslim women tend to speak more freely with groups that do not include men. As a result, the dialogue reached levels of exploration that involved faith, perspectives of justice, better understanding, and quests for peace towards loving one another through differences. In conclusion, I envision other Christian communities using this project for interreligious dialogue."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Hartford Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8e52e4c8-38b6-4846-872d-a744b4f5725d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126220765659136,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:24:34.186Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:08:26Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:08:02Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a1d41da6-8dd5-4d67-aee5-c65da42f535a","accessControl_ssim":["58627f22-0eda-4942-9a18-8d18503e9124"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Nurturing faith in a bifurcated generation: a practice of dislocation for children to resist the forces of the domination system"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:08:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:50:58Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d66b1f06-e4d7-418c-9297-a3dd0a18a5d8"],"hasLease_ssim":["08ffc316-bbdf-4e2e-99b3-c231bf57ddd6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kathy L Dawson"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jule Madeline Nyhuis"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with children","Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)","Hill United Methodist Church (Nashville)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["In Nashville, TN, children of the haves and the have nots are separated by market-driven forces that keep them numbingly busy, intellectually limited, and ever-pursuing that which will not satisfy. Using the Holmes/Sager/Ware model of spiritual types can enhance the effectiveness of preaching and lead to measurable spiritual growth on the part of both preacher and listener. The results of a first and second congregational religious life survey indicated measurable spiritual growth for all four spiritual types.
