As an element of the persuasive milieu of Scripture, the charge to preach includes style.  Both testaments manifest God's love of linguistic art for its theology.  Current homiletics textbooks, however, cannot hope to explain all theories of style and include performance pedagogy.  This project, therefore, developed lectures on style's verbal and nonverbal factors for preaching, taught the lessons, and evaluated the learning outcomes to identify course improvements.  The research design combines content analysis of student work, ethnographic study of teacher and student critiques, and survey research. The purpose of this project was to discover factors that contribute to the resiliency and retention of missionaries who have gone through traumatic events in their missionary career in Africa and yet continue to serve there.  This qualitative study used narrative methodology and involved 35 interviews with missionaries who had experienced various traumas.  Four factors that respondents brought into their trauma event were: a strong personal conviction, a preparedness from birth, words from God, and sturdy relationships.  Four factors which emerged from the trauma were experiencing the keeper side of God, hearing authoritative leadership voices, quickly finding new ministry foci, and benefiting from functional networks. This qualitative action research project document describes the actual establishment of a congregational-based CPE program in Fargo, North Dakota.  Using this information and data drawn from the experience of five other founding supervisors of congregational-based programs, fourteen developmental steps and seven founding principles were found to be necessary in the development of a viable congregational-based CPE center. In this exploratory case study, the church participants learned who they are, who their neighbors are, and what they are called to do, through spiritual, contextual, historical, organizational, missional, attitudinal, relational, educational, and connectional components. The results of pre-post tests, as well as group sessions, indicated that participants' understanding of and attitudes about marital relationships were enhanced. The initial purpose was to create ministries that were target specific for the Buster generation and to utilize spiritually-gifted people to create and sustain those ministries. This mixed method research utilized surveys, interviews, and observations to determine the outcome. The project used a set of interfaith activities and was implemented in Charleston, West Virginia in a series of meetings between members of a local church and the Islamic center. The results were positive, as participants characterized the activities as a valuable learning experience that changed their perceptions of each other's religions. The goal was to teach the Christian education board made up of 17 members, on the usage and application of fellowship principles taken from the Bible, and to have these members use these principles of fellowship in the congregation.
