The researcher created and administered a 100-statement survey as a pre- and post-test to 167 students enrolled in a summer program designed to produce growth in twenty different areas of their spiritual life and ministry effectiveness. The results were gathered, sorted, and evaluated by the researcher, indicating spiritual growth did take place during the nine weeks. The thesis explores the nature and treatment of sexual addiction and documents the creation of a ten-session program designed to assist adult men understand their own sexuality and learn to achieve self control. The study documents the impact of a small group study of biblical one-anothering on the level of marriage satisfaction as measured by qualitative and quantitative measures. The author preached four Old Testament sermons and four New Testament sermons in his church. The participants received a quiz to be completed immediately following each sermon. The results indicated that there was little difference between Old and New Testament sermons on participants' memory retention. A change in members' attitudes was measured through data and methodological triangulation,  using personal interviews, observation, and testing, thus combining both qualitative and quantitative methods. Of the seventy-two evangelical and non-evangelical clergy couples who completed the Dyadic Adjustment Scale (DAS) and the Index of Marital Satisfaction (IMS) self-tests, the main issues of concern identified were: financial, religious, and affectional. With minimal seminar and follow-up participation, after these self-tests, the Transtheoretical model developed by Prochaska and Norcross (2003) was incorporated. This dissertation seeks to answer questions relevant to how stress affects the lives of students, their spouses, and children. Research utilized a polling instrument and interviews of students at CIU.  The results indicate those who responded handle stress in a generally positive manner.  The major sources of stress were time demands, school work, and finances/debt.  The major symptoms of stress were tiredness, anxiety, and irritability. Jerome Berryman's model for children's worship (Godly play) shows how through creativity and play children experience spirituality as transcendence and awe. The methodology of this technique will be transferred to adult ministry. Unfortunately, churches in transitioning neighborhoods struggle predictably with how best to respond to the unique challenges and opportunities presented by changing demographics.  The project grows out of the experiences of a local congregation, Calvary Reformed Church, Holland, Michigan over an eight year period.  This project shows that is is possible/preferable for an established congregation to embrace a community undergoing economic, ethnic or cultural change.
