The Korean immigrants have experienced great growth since they first came to Hawaii in 1903. The Korean church in America has also undergone tremendous growth. First of all, this study presents the history of Korean immigration to the United States and the accompanying growth of the church in various stages from 1903 to the present. In addition, the study analyzes the results of a survey on what kind of leadership Korean American church congregation members desire. Many of Korean American church congregation members want the servant leadership model for their pastors because they have difficulty adapting to their new life in America. They suffer physical and mental stresses and depression arising from life as a minority group in a foreign land. From the research the project director designed a curriculum to equip the parents to train their children selected disciplines.  An eight-week parenting workshop was conducted utilizing the curriculum in order to equip the parents. The pastor and leaders concentrated on evangelism, and coordinated the focus on evangelism training throughout the programs of the church.  As a result, the attitudes of the people were changed.  They began looking for people outside the church to whom they could minister, and with whom they could share the message of the Gospel of Christ.  Lay leaders began to teach and empower others to reach out. This study seeks a documented and experiential framework by reviewing a candidacy and call approval process in a local presbytery to determine whether and how the church should engage with parachurch ministry. The purpose of this project is to explore the core needs of 'Generation X' and practical ways the Christian Church might address those needs. The research on this project is conducted through interviews with 'Generation X' members of Second Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN, and 'Gen X' individuals who are not members of any particular church. Pastors of churches that are prospering in ministry to 'Generation X' were also interviewed. This single-group, pretest-posttest design analyzed quantitative and qualitative data. Participants (n=11) did show a significant gain in knowledge of ways to practice the Lord's presence.  While almost 75% of the participants provided qualitative data indicating a gain in intimacy, participants did not demonstrate significant gains in intimacy on the quantitative questions.
