Seventy-six million baby boomers will begin the retirement process in 2006, and, judging from the writer's research, most boomers are not ready to move into retirement, nor will they retire in the same way the previous generation did.  Many boomers desire to transition into retirement -- cut back to part-time, move in and out of a variety of jobs, or even start a new business that will fulfill a dream.  They are looking for significance, have a desire to 'give back,' and have serious financial concerns.  Because it is heavily populated with boomers, the church is certainly going to experience a change because of this prodigious movement of retiring boomers. With adequate preparation and vision, the church is also in the position to reap Kingdom rewards by engaging the boomer in Kingdom work.  This project was designed to understand the boomer woman, her needs and desires as she moves toward retirement, and also to discover ways the church can respond to the boomer and her desire to give back. This project involves working with the corporate and personal grief of a particular congregation in its attempts to deal with a series of losses within the church. This project proposes that correlations between personal and corporate grief allow techniques used in facilitating the grief process in one to aid in the grief process of the other.  Deliberate use of pastoral work aided the congregation in its grief journey. Correlations were found between personal and corporate grief. These young mothers are experiencing spiritual needs and the church is seeking to put in place principles and guidelines that will enable them to meet their daily needs.  In this paper a proposed definitive statement is presented, a basic guideline, and principle are outlined in sequence. Strategy, goals, and an action plan are suggested for the church. This study suggests a pattern of thought, an approach to dealing with problems of teenage mothers. A ministry model is developed based on the author's experience of an unusually high number of divorces in a church where he served; an analysis of biblical teaching on marriage, divorce, and remarriage; interviews with divorced Christians active in local churches; interviews with pastors and parachurch workers who have experience counseling the divorced; and research in the field. The development of the model also drew from an analysis of a local parachurch divorce recovery ministry and from research on the social and psychological impact of divorce on the church. Several misconceptions are revealed about the divorce experience, social consequences, and ministry to the divorced.  Outlines are used to develop a paradigm for ministry to the divorced and remarried that can be used by evangelical churches with varying theological assumptions about divorce, as well as by churches of varying The study attempted to discover the impact or effects of such an experience--solely from the vantage point or perspective of the pastor. As such this study was intended to be an impact study and the research methodology qualitative in nature. Interviews conducted with soldiers deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom demonstrated that the transition from the civilian to military sector can be overwhelming.  This thesis will demonstrate how Christian National Guard and Reserve soldiers can, through a biblical framework, transition into the Army as their workplace.
